WHERE WE GO
The majority of our trips start and end at The Ceeders in Castlecroft Lane, Wolverhampton where there is adequate parking space for cars and minibuses. From here the boat can go south as far as Giggetty in Wombourne, with the opportunity to call into the Round Oak for a meal. Alternatively the boat can stop at the Bratch Picnic Site, just below the celebrated Bratch Locks, where passengers can disembark for a picnic.
Going north, trips can go as far as The Fox & Anchor at Coven, another opportunity for a pub lunch, or only go as far as Aldersley Junction, where the Birmingham Canal Navigation joins the Staffs & Worcs, or a little further to Autherley Junction. Here the Shropshire Union Canal branches off to the left. Longer day trips can go up the Shroppie as far as Brewood but this is perhaps too far for elderly passengers.
A popular five hour trip is to go south to Dimmingsdale, turn around and on the way north stop at Compton or Newbridge for fish and chips, before turning again at Aldersley or Autherley.
